SARC - TLIF0020 - Safely Access the Rail Corridor
This course is delivered 100% online; work through the course content self-paced at any time that suits you! This course provides participants with the knowledge, training and skills to effectively work safely in and around the rail corridor. Previously known as the Rail Industry Safety Induction (RISI).
Course Overview
TLIF0020 unit involves the skills and knowledge required to enter the rail corridor.
It includes taking appropriate safety precautions to:
- access the danger zone
- access the rail corridor
- respond appropriately in an emergency.
People achieving competence in this unit will need to fulfil the applicable state/territory legislated rail safety requirements and to comply with relevant codes of practice, rules and/or guidelines.
Network Operators in various states require certain competencies to be obtained from specific training providers, please ensure this course meets your requirements prior to enrolment.
This unit involves the application of Rail Infrastructure Manager rules, procedures and protocols for rail safety.
This unit applies to all people accessing the rail corridor.
No licensing, legislative or certification requirements apply to this unit at the time of publication.

Entry Requirements
There are no formal entry requirements for this course, however, you must possess basic literacy and numeracy skills. You may be required to complete a Language, Literacy, and Numeracy (LLN) indicator prior to enrolling.

Course Delivery

You will be required to complete a pre-enrolment assessment as part of the enrolment process. The pre-enrolment assessment assists in evaluating your suitability for the course and to tailor any required support services to meet your individual needs. If required, a representative from Civil Safety may contact you to discuss alternative options or available support services to assist you with your course.During your studies, you will receive feedback after each assessment/assignment and the trainer/assessor will be available to discuss the feedback or provide additional assistance or direction as appropriate.
Certification
A qualification and transcript will be issued by Civil safety upon successful completion of course requirements, provided that all administrative requirements have been met and course fees are paid in full. In these circumstances, certificate will be issued within 30 days. For all refresher courses, Statement of Attainments will be issued within 2 business days.Enrolment
Enrolment is contingent upon an application being accepted. Factors considered in the evaluation of enrolment applications include meeting course entry requirements, eligibility for a training subsidy (where applicable) and acceptance or any applicable terms of enrolment.It is a condition of enrolment in any nationally recognised training (accredited) programme that you supply the training organisation with a valid unique student identifier (USI). If you don’t already have a USI, you can apply for one online at www.usi.gov.au.
Enrolment is confirmed upon payment of applicable fees, Civil Safety will collect no more than $1500 of the total fee on initial enrolment.
