Our Defensive Driving Program has been carefully designed to provide ‘real world’ practical driving skills and the general knowledge you can intuitively apply each day to keep you safe. The course will comprise of a half-day theory session (conducted in a classroom) and a half-day practical session in your own vehicle which includes emergency braking and hazard avoidance exercises.

This Defensive Driving Course unit encourages proactive defensive driving to improve the community and worksite road safety. On successful completion of the course, you will be issued with a nationally recognised RIIVEH305E – Operate and maintain a four-wheel-drive vehicle Statement of Attainment.
Areas covered in the course are:
Identify four-wheel drive specific terms, terminology and techniques
Plan for minimal environmental impact
Perform pre-departure checks
Use four-wheel-drive mode
Coordinate and recover a vehicle
Perform maintenance and minor repairs on four-wheel-drive vehicles
There are no formal entry requirements for this course, however, you must possess basic literacy and numeracy skills. You may be required to complete a Language, Literacy, and Numeracy (LLN) indicator before enrolling.
