Workplace training skills for on-site trainers and assessors

You will develop core skills in face-to-face instruction and the capability to deliver workplace training, assessment, and mentoring activities. These units are designed for trainers and assessors who deliver non-accredited training and for those supporting other trainers in the delivery of nationally recognised training within operational workplace environments.

You'll complete the following two units in one course:

  • TAEASS412 - Assess Competence

It provides the foundation for supporting learners in the workplace while also determining competency against nationally recognised standards.

The combination of TAEDEL311 Provide Work Skill Instruction and TAEASS412 Assess Competence reflects current industry requirements for those involved in both training delivery and competency assessment.

You can choose to complete this course online or face-to-face at one of our training facilities.

Entry Requirements

There are no formal entry requirements. However, students will need:

  • Basic computer skills and internet access (for enrolment and communication)

  • Sufficient language, literacy, and numeracy (LLN) skills to complete assessments

  • A valid Unique Student Identifier (USI) - mandatory for all nationally recognised training. If you don’t have one, you can apply at usi.gov.au or we can assist.

Licensing/Regulatory Information

At the time of publication, there are no licensing, legislative, or certification requirements associated with this skill set. These two units have replaced the previous TAEDEL301 and TAEASS402 competencies, which were included in the former TAESS00015 Enterprise Trainer and Assessor Skill Set.
