Our G2 Risk Facilitator Refresher Course has been developed to meet the Mining Legislation requirement that mining competencies be refreshed at least every 5 years. This course is 100% online, allowing you to work through the course content and refresh your knowledge self paced, at any time! 

Course Overview

This ‘G2’ RIIRIS402E Carry out the Risk Management Processes course refreshes the skills and knowledge required to carry out risk management processes, including planning, identifying hazards and assessing risk, and developing and implementing risk controls.

This unit it appropriate for those working in supervisory roles overseeing and auditing the risk assessment process.

This competency is a statutory requirement according to mining legislation for certain occupational categories as deemed by the respective Mining Safety & Health Advisory Committees which must be refreshed every five years

Entry Requirements

To qualify for our G2 Risk Facilitator Refresher Course, students are required to provide a notarised copy of their existing qualification/ statement of attainment which has been issued within the last 5 years.  

Course Structure

The course includes up-to-date knowledge on current regulations and legislation, including skills ability:

  • Determining the risk management process
  • Indentifying hazards
  • Assessing risk
  • Identifying unacceptable risk and potential actions
  • Deciding on, implementing or facilitating of actions
  • Reviewing the implementation of action
  • Auditing the risk management process; and
  • Completing records and reports.

Support

You will be required to complete a pre-enrolment assessment as part of the enrolment process.  The pre-enrolment assessment assists in evaluating your suitability for the course and to tailor any required support services to meet your individual needs.  If required, a representative from Civil Safety may contact you to discuss alternative options or available support services to assist you with your course.
 
During your studies, you will receive feedback after each assessment/assignment and the trainer/assessor will be available to discuss the feedback or provide additional assistance or direction as appropriate. 

Certification

A qualification testamur and transcript will be issued by Civil safety upon successful completion of course requirements, provided that all administrative requirements have been met and course fees are paid in full.  In these circumstances, certificate will be issued within 30 days. For all refresher courses, Statement of Attainments will be issued within 2 business days.
 

Enrolment

Enrolment is contingent upon an application being accepted.  Factors considered in the evaluation of enrolment applications include meeting course entry requirements, eligibility for a training subsidy (where applicable) and acceptance or any applicable terms of enrolment.

It is a condition of enrolment in any nationally recognised training (accredited) programme that you supply the training organisation with a valid unique student identifier (USI).  If you don’t already have a USI, you can apply for one online at www.usi.gov.au.

Enrolment is confirmed upon payment of applicable fees, Civil Safety will collect no more than $1500 of the total fee on initial enrolment.
