Course Overview

During the course, you will acquire a diverse set of practical skills, such as manual excavation techniques, material spreading and compaction, plant operation support, basic leveling, and pothole repair. You will also learn to manage resources and infrastructure materials efficiently, handle non-toxic waste safely, devise traffic management plans, drain and dewater civil construction sites, and locate and safeguard underground services.

Successful completion of this course will qualify you to work in the civil construction industry as a road construction worker. Additionally, it will equip you with the necessary knowledge and expertise to advance your career by pursuing further studies in this field.

Course Delivery and Duration

This course takes approximately 12 months to achieve the Certificate III in Civil Construction

Road Construction and Maintenance. The course is designed as hands on practical learning, and is conducted at any of our training centres located in Queensland or at your work site. Based on demand, other training venues and locations may become available throughout the year.

Road Construction Worker: As a Road Construction Worker, you will be responsible for building and maintaining roads, footpaths, and other related infrastructure. You will work on tasks such as laying asphalt, compacting surfaces, and constructing kerbs and gutters.

After completing the Certificate III in Civil Construction Road Construction and Maintenance, you can advance your career by gaining more experience and expertise in your chosen field. You may also choose to further your education by enrolling in higher-level qualifications, such as a Diploma or Advanced Diploma in Civil Construction or related fields, to develop specialized skills and knowledge. Additionally, you may seek additional training and certifications in areas such as traffic management, machinery operation, or project management, to enhance your employability and earning potential.
