Course Overview
The G2 Risk Facilitator Course for Mining is a specialised training program designed for professionals working in the mining industry who are responsible for managing and mitigating risks. The course provides participants with the knowledge, skills, and tools needed to facilitate risk management processes effectively and to promote a risk-aware culture within mining organisations, including planning, identifying hazards and assessing risk, and developing and implementing risk controls.
This competency is a statutory requirement according to mining legislation for certain occupational categories as deemed by the respective Mining Safety & Health Advisory Committees.

Unit/s and Certification
As a minimum, personnel need to be refreshed in their knowledge of:
- facilitating risk assessment exercises for others
- providing instruction and supervision to those involved in carrying out the risk management process
- identifying hazards
- applying hazard analysis to identify risk
- selecting and implementing the appropriate hazard and risk treatments using the hierarchy of controls to reduce unacceptable risk
- seeking advice and clarifying findings for unacceptable risks
- communicating relevant outcomes, work procedures and requirements for managing risk to all involved parties
- auditing outcomes and processes for compliance and effectiveness, and recommending changes to improve effectiveness
- preparing written risk assessment documentation and reports.
Entry Requirements
- A clear copy of your drivers licence or photo identification;
- Sufficient level of language, literacy and numeracy is required for students to be able to complete the required assessments;
- Our courses can be accessed on any device with an internet connection, making it accessible to anyone with basic computer skills.
