The G3 - RIIRIS601E course is designed for experienced workers in mining and high-risk industries who are responsible for developing, implementing, and reviewing risk management systems. You’ll learn how to:

  • Interpret and apply WHS and mining-specific legislation across jurisdictions.

  • Structure and lead the development of Risk Management Systems (RMS), Safety and Health Management System (SHMS) or Mine Safety Management System (MSMS) frameworks.

  • Establish site-specific Principal Hazard Management Plans (PHMP).

  • Implement risk processes.

  • Lead risk consultation, delegation, and supervision across departments and contractors.

  • Monitor risk performance using leading and lagging indicators and incident data.

  • Respond to site changes, critical events, and regulatory requirements through systematic reviews.

  • Document and defend risk decisions under legal scrutiny.
