
Civil Safety is passionate about indigenous employment because we believe it is important in securing role models for present and future generations in the community.
Civil Safety’s Business Development Manager, Noel Gertz, has been a leading figure in the resources and infrastructure for over 30 years and has been recognised by the Queensland Resources Council for his work in Indigenous advocacy over those decades. Noel, of the Gugu Badhun people, said he shared the award for his 30 years of work advocating employment for indigenous people, which included his previous roles at TAFE, and mining companies including CopperChem.
Civil Safety’s current focus is the Promotion of ‘training-to-employment’ opportunities for the Construction (including civil), Resources (Production and Processing), Rural as well as the Transport/Logistics industries. As a company we work with remote and rural communities and local authorities, as well as assisting Indigenous stakeholders prepare economic engagement strategies for infrastructure and resource projects.
