Course Overview

The Standard 11 Mining Induction is a Queensland mining industry safety and induction course required for anyone transitioning to work in the mining industry.  Standard 11 training which replaces the original ‘Generic Induction’, was introduced in 2011.

The S11 Programme provides training and assessment for the Resources and Infrastructure Industry (RII) Units of Competency which are specified in Recognised Standard 11, Training in Coal Mines (Qld Coal Mining Safety and Health Act 1999).

Mining Legislation requires that mining competencies be refreshed at least every 5 years.

This refresher course provides participants with the skills and knowledge required to continue to work on a surface coal mine site in Queensland. The course refreshes participants' knowledge in the 6 key competencies regarding the common safety practices of Coal Mine.

Entry Requirements

To qualify for our Standard 11 (S11) Refresher Course, students are required to provide a notarised copy of their existing Standard 11 qualification/ statement of attainment which has been issued within the last 5 years.
