1. Cancellations and Refunds
If a student has accessed any course materials, regardless of when they enrolled, a 100% cancellation fee will be applied, and no refund will be given.
Student-Initiated Cancellations:
More than 48 hours before course commencement: Students who cancel their course more than 48 hours before the scheduled start time will receive a full refund, minus a $50 administration fee.
Between 24 and 48 hours before course commencement: Students who cancel within this period will receive a 50% refund, or may opt to reschedule for a future course at no additional cost.
Less than 24 hours before course commencement: Cancellations within this timeframe are not eligible for a refund, except in cases of documented exceptional circumstances (e.g., medical emergency, employer-mandated scheduling changes). Where approved, a 50% refund may be granted at Civil Safety’s discretion.
Company or Workplace Bookings:
If Civil Safety has arranged trainer travel or accommodation, and the company cancels/postpones the course, any non-refundable travel and accommodation costs incurred by Civil Safety may be on-charged to the client.
Failure to Provide Required Documents/Materials:
If students fail to bring required documentation or materials needed for training and assessment, they will be given the option to reschedule their course.
If they choose not to reschedule, a 50% refund may be issued instead of the previously stated 100% charge.
Civil Safety-Initiated Cancellations:
If Civil Safety cancels or reschedules a course, affected students will be offered the option of:
1. A full refund of all fees paid, or;
2. A transfer to a future course, with priority booking.
If a cancellation occurs less than 24 hours before the scheduled training, students will also receive a 10% discount on their next course as compensation.
Online Course Cancellations & Refunds:
Students wishing to cancel or transfer an enrolment must provide written notice within 2 business days of enrolment to receive a refund, minus a $50 administration fee.
After the 2-business-day period, a 100% cancellation fee applies, and no refund will be provided.
Online courses that involve live virtual sessions will follow the same policy as face-to-face courses regarding notice periods and refunds.
2. Refund Policy
Refunds will only be provided in the following circumstances:
The student cancels 48+ hours before the course (minus a $50 administration fee).
Civil Safety cancels or reschedules the course, making attendance impossible.
The student experiences genuine hardship (such as a medical condition, family emergency, or employer-mandated scheduling change) and provides supporting documentation.
No refund will be provided for:
Non-attendance without notice.
Failure to complete the course once it has started.
Cancellations made within 24 hours, except where special circumstances apply.
Situations when a student has accessed any course materials, regardless of when they enrolled.
Refund Processing Time:
Approved refunds will be processed within 10 business days.
Refunds will be issued via the original payment method, unless otherwise requested.
