The Certificate III in Parks and Gardens (AHC31024) provides you with the practical skills and knowledge to work confidently and safely in parks, gardens, landscaping and horticultural environments. You’ll learn how to:
Maintain and care for parks, gardens and landscaped areas
Identify, establish and maintain plants and garden environments
Maintain lawns, garden beds and other landscaped areas
Use, operate and maintain horticultural tools, equipment and machinery
Undertake a range of horticultural and parks maintenance activities
Prune and maintain trees, shrubs and other plants
Prepare soil and growing media for planting and garden maintenance
Apply fertilisers, treatments and other horticultural products safely
Implement sustainable and environmentally responsible work practices
Apply workplace health and safety procedures and use personal protective equipment (PPE)
Identify workplace hazards and maintain safe outdoor work areas
Communicate effectively and work as part of a parks, gardens or landscaping team
Plan and organise daily work activities and complete tasks to industry standards

Course Delivery and Assessment
The Certificate III in Parks and Gardens (AHC31024) is delivered face-to-face, providing a practical and engaging learning experience designed to develop the skills and knowledge required to work effectively in parks, gardens, landscaping and horticulture environments. Under the guidance of experienced trainers, you’ll participate in hands-on activities and practical training that reflect real workplace tasks and conditions. Course Duration: Approximately 3–6 months, with up to 12 months to complete the qualification.
Assessment is competency-based, meaning you’ll be assessed on your ability to perform tasks and apply your knowledge in realistic workplace scenarios. This includes:
Practical demonstrations of parks and gardens skills and workplace procedures
Observation of tasks in simulated or real work environments
Written assessments to confirm your understanding of key concepts
Practical activities that demonstrate your ability to apply horticultural skills safely and effectively

Entry Requirements
There are no formal entry requirements for this course, however students will need:
Basic computer skills and internet access (for enrolment and online modules)
Adequate language, literacy and numeracy (LLN) skills to complete assessments, and;
A valid Unique Student Identifier (USI) - mandatory for all nationally recognised training. If you don't already have a USI, you can apply for one online at www.usi.gov.au or we can apply for one for you.

There are no formal entry requirements for this course. However is expected that you have basic computer skills, LLN competency, and a valid USI are required (if you don't have one you can apply at usi.gov.au or we can assist).
Your Statement of Attainment is typically issued within 3-5 business days after you successfully complete all assessments and all required enrolment, USI and payment requirements are satisfied.
