The Conduct Tractor Operations (RIIMPO315E) course provides participants with the practical skills and operational knowledge required to safely operate tractors across construction, civil, agricultural, and resource sector environments.
You’ll learn about:
Legislation & Compliance: Understand workplace health and safety responsibilities, site procedures, and legal requirements relating to tractor operations and equipment use.
Planning & Preparing for Operations: Learn how to interpret work instructions, assess site conditions, and prepare tractors and work areas for safe and efficient operation.
Hazard Identification & Risk Control: Identify workplace hazards, including uneven terrain, underground and overhead services, environmental conditions, and moving plant, while applying appropriate risk control measures.
Tractor Components & Implements: Gain an understanding of tractor systems, controls, attachments, and implements, including their correct applications and operational limitations.
Pre-Operational Checks & Maintenance: Conduct pre-start inspections, operational checks, shutdown procedures, and basic maintenance to ensure equipment remains safe and serviceable.
Safe Tractor Operating Techniques: Operate tractors safely across varying terrains, ground conditions, and workplace environments while maintaining stability and control.
Attachment & Implement Operations: Learn how to safely attach, operate, monitor, and remove tractor implements and auxiliary equipment.
Communication & Teamwork: Follow workplace communication systems and coordinate effectively with supervisors, spotters, and other personnel on site.
Emergency Procedures & Incident Response: Respond appropriately to equipment faults, unsafe conditions, or emergency situations during tractor operations.
Documentation & Reporting: Complete workplace documentation, report hazards and equipment issues, and follow organisational procedures and compliance requirements.
