This Conduct Tractor Operations (RIIMPO315E) course focuses on developing the practical capability to operate tractors safely, efficiently, and in line with industry expectations. It is suited to individuals working across construction, civil, agriculture, and resource sectors who are required to use tractors for a range of operational tasks.
Training combines theory with practical application, ensuring participants understand not just how to operate a tractor, but how to do so within the framework of site procedures, safety systems, and productivity requirements.
You’ll learn:
How to conduct pre-start, operational, and shutdown procedures
Safe tractor operating techniques across different terrains and conditions
How to attach, operate, and manage tractor implements
How to identify hazards and apply risk control measures
Basic maintenance and equipment care requirements
Communication and teamwork practices within a worksite environment
How to follow workplace policies, procedures, and compliance requirements
On completion, participants will have the skills to operate tractors confidently while supporting safe and efficient operations.

You’ll be assessed through practical, real-world scenarios to ensure you can confidently apply your skills in emergency situations.
Assessment is competency-based and ensures you can apply safe work practices with confidence. It includes:

A final assessment to confirm your skills and compliance are current

There are no formal entry requirements. Students will need:
Have basic computer skills and access to the internet.
Have sufficient language, literacy and numeracy (LLN) skills to complete assessments.
Hold a valid Unique Student Identifier (USI) - mandatory for all nationally recognised training. If you don't already have a USI, you can apply for one online at www.usi.gov.au or we can apply for one for you.
