It is designed for industry professionals transitioning into training roles, as well as existing trainers requiring formal compliance qualifications.
This qualification enables you to deliver nationally recognised training and conduct assessments across a range of environments, including Registered Training Organisations (RTOs), workplaces, community organisations, and education settings, in accordance with current VET legislation and regulatory standards.
On successful completion, you will be qualified to operate as a Trainer and Assessor, with the authority to deliver accredited training and assess learner competency within your vocational area of expertise.
You have the option of choosing to complete this course online or face-to-face at one of our training facilities.
This pathway provides a flexible, structured online learning model supported by qualified trainers. It is designed for learners requiring flexibility while maintaining full compliance with national training and assessment standards.

Four (4) adult participants for three (3) x 30-minute group sessions
Two (2) adult participants for two (2) x 30-minute individual sessions
The Certificate IV in Training and Assessment is delivered across two initial sessions of face-to-face training, with each session taking five days = ten days of face-to-face training in total.
Session 1 (5 days)
The first session consists of five days of face-to-face training (in-person or online), where you will develop essential skills in vocational education and training. This session focuses on core concepts, including competency-based assessment, facilitating engaging training sessions, and integrating essential skills into the learning process. By the end of Session 1, you will have completed key units and will receive a partial Statement of Attainment (SOA), marking a significant milestone in your journey to becoming a qualified trainer and assessor.
Session 2 (5 days)
The second session also consists of five days of face-to-face training (either in-person or online). In this final session, you will build on your learnings in Session 1 and focus on applying your knowledge in real-world environments. You'll develop assessment tools, mentor learners, and further hone your training skills. For planning purposes, please view key dates for Session 2 .
You will be assessed on your competency across 12 units and will need to successfully pass both sessions to obtain your full qualification.
Online Modules (self-paced)
In addition to Sessions 1 and 2 above, you are required to complete a series of online learning modules which will make up the rest of your course. During these, you'll build on the skills you've learnt during the face-to-face sessions, and dive deeper into the various disciplines of Training and Assessment.
You can access these modules online anytime and work through them at your own pace – giving you the chance to take control of the time it takes you to complete the course, and providing you with a knowledge base you can come back to as you progress to becoming a qualified Trainer and Assessor.
