Course Overview

Are you a current mining supervisor who needs to refresh your skills and maintain your competency? The G189 Mining Supervisors Refresher Course is designed to help supervisors stay up to date with their safety responsibilities, legislative requirements, and industry best practices.

Mining supervisors play a critical role in ensuring safe and compliant operations. Refresher training is recommended to maintain currency and ensure supervisors remain aligned with current site procedures, WHS legislation, and industry expectations, including those set by Resources Safety & Health Queensland.

This refresher course will update your knowledge and reinforce your ability to:

• Apply current workplace health and safety requirements in mining environments.
• Identify hazards, assess risks, and implement effective control measures.
• Supervise teams safely and ensure work is carried out in accordance with site procedures.
• Communicate safety information clearly with workers and management.
• Respond to incidents and contribute to investigations and corrective actions.
• Promote and maintain a strong safety culture within your work area.

Course Delivery and Duration

You will have 30 days from the date of your course enrolment to complete the refresher.

Entry Requirements

To enrol in this refresher course, students must:

• Have successfully completed the G189/S123 Mining Supervisor course within the last 5 years.
• Be at least 15 years of age.
• Have basic computer skills and access to the internet.
• Have sufficient language, literacy and numeracy (LLN) skills to complete assessments.
• Hold a valud Unique Student identifier (USI) - mandatory for all nationally recognised training. If you don't already have a USI, you can apply for one online at www.usi.gov.au or we can apply for one for you.

• A clear copy of your driver's licence or other photo identification.
• A Statement of Attainment issued by an RTO confirming successful completion of the G189/S123 Mining Supervisors course.

• To avoid delay in processing and issuing your Statement of Attainment, please ensure payment or a company purchase order is provided at enrolment.
• If you are submitting a USI transcript, it must include a QR verification code.
• If the student does not meet the refresher eligibility requirements and is required to complete the full course, an additional assessment fee will apply for the practical training and assessment component. This can be delivered at any of our training facilities across Australia.

The assessment for this refresher course consists of a series of questions that relate to the subject matter covered in the original course, which reinforces key concepts and enables learners to demonstrate their comprehensive understanding of the refreshed knowledge and the information they already possess from their experience.
