2 Course F2F Refresher Bundle - Gas Test Atmospheres & Confined Spaces - Course Information
The combined Face to Face refresher course is designed for workers who have previously completed training in confined space entry and gas test atmospheres, and want to keep their skills up-to-date and maintain compliance.
You’ll refresh your skills on how to:
Conduct gas testing in accordance with workplace procedures and legislative requirements
Safely plan, enter, and exit confined spaces using correct procedures and equipment
Understand emergency procedures for gas and confined space-related incidents
Demonstrate safe communication and coordination when working in high-risk environments
Maintain compliance with site-specific policies, standards, and regulatory requirements
Course delivery and assessment
This refresher course is delivered face-to-face over 1 full day.
You’ll gain hands-on experience in a controlled environment, building both confidence and competence while receiving direct guidance and personalised feedback from experienced trainers throughout the day.
Assessment is competency-based and ensures you can apply safe work practices with confidence. It includes:
An Interactive quiz and knowledge checks throughout the day
Scenario-based questions to demonstrate practical understanding
A final observation to confirm your competency in all three areas

Mining & Resources: Mining operator, site safety officer, maintenance and service crew member
Construction & Civil Infrastructure: Â Construction worker, confined space entry technician, and site supervisor
Utilities & Industrial Services: Industrial maintenance technician, gas testing operator, and site support worker

Upon successful completion of this refresher course, you will be awarded a nationally-recognised Statement of Attainment for:
RIIWHS202E - Enter and Work in Confined Spaces
MSMWHS217 - Gas Test Atmospheres
This certification is nationally recognised under the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) and can support applications for higher roles in safety and compliance.
Entry requirements
The following entry requirements apply to this course:
Previously completed a full Enter and Work in Confined Spaces (RIIWHS202E) and Gas Test Atmospheres (MSMWHS217) units.
Basic computer skills and access to the internet.
Sufficient language, literacy and numeracy (LLN) skills to complete assessments, and;
A valid Unique Student Identifier (USI) - mandatory for all nationally recognised training. If you don't already have a USI, you can apply for one online at www.usi.gov.au or we can apply for one for you.

This course is conducted in person over one (1) day.
Yes, you must have:
Previously completed the full Enter and Work in Confined Spaces (RIIWHS202E) and Gas Test Atmospheres (MSMWHS217) units within the last 5 years.
Basic computer skills and access to the internet.
Sufficient language, literacy and numeracy (LLN) skills to complete assessments, and;
A valid Unique Student Identifier (USI) - mandatory for all nationally recognised training. If you don't already have a USI, you can apply for one online at www.usi.gov.au or we can apply for one for you.
Your SOA will be issued within 3-5 business days of successfully completing the course and receiving payment.
