You’ll learn about:
Legislation & Compliance: Understand WHS requirements, workplace procedures, and your responsibilities as a tracked front-end loader operator.
Hazard Identification: Identify worksite hazards, ground conditions, underground services, environmental factors, and other risks that can affect safe machine operation.
Machine Components & Attachments: Understand the main components, controls, attachments, and capabilities of tracked front-end loaders and how they are used safely.
Pre-Operational Checks & Maintenance: Carry out pre-start inspections, identify faults and defects, and complete basic maintenance and shutdown procedures.
Safe Operating Procedures: Operate a tracked front-end loader safely and efficiently, including travelling, manoeuvring, loading, carrying, and placing materials.
Load Handling & Stability: Understand load limits, machine stability, safe loading techniques, and how to manage materials without compromising safety.
Excavation & Material Handling: Use the machine to carry out tasks such as stockpiling, spreading, levelling, loading, and moving materials in accordance with job requirements.

Course Delivery and Assessment
In order to provide you with the best learning outcomes possible, this course is delivered via a mix of online learning and face-to-face training. You will be assigned an experienced Trainer Assessor for support throughout your course.
Step 1 - Complete Online Module (within 30 days)
The online modules are self-paced and include assessments (quizzes, written tasks, or short exercises) to ensure understanding.
Step 2 - Attend 1 Day of Face-to-Face Training
Your trainer will give you practical tasks to complete based on the information you’ve learned in your online theory module.
You will need to pass both steps in order to successfully complete the course.

A valid Unique Student Identifier (USI) - mandatory for all nationally recognised training. If you don’t have one, you can apply at usi.gov.au or we can assist.
*Please note, this unit does not provide sufficient skills to independently load and unload equipment. To perform this activity safely, you must either complete or be assisted by someone who has completed Load and Unload Plant (RIIHAN308F) or an equivalent qualification.
