You’ll refresh key CPR techniques, including how to recognise and respond to cardiac emergencies, perform CPR and use an automated external defibrillator (AED).

Refresher - F2F - Provide CPR - Course Information
The Provide CPR face-to-face refresher course is designed for workers who have previously completed CPR training and need to maintain their skills and currency.
You’ll refresh your knowledge and practical CPR skills, including responding to medical emergencies, performing CPR and using an Automated External Defibrillator (AED).
You’ll refresh your skills in:
Assessing an emergency situation and responding appropriately
Managing an unresponsive casualty
Performing CPR on adults, children and infants
Using an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) safely and effectively
Following current CPR procedures and techniques
Applying infection control procedures
Communicating effectively during an emergency
Training and assessment are conducted in line with current Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) guidelines and relevant workplace requirements.
Course Delivery and Assessment
This refresher course is delivered face-to-face over 2 hours.
You’ll be assessed through practical, real-world scenarios to ensure you can confidently apply your skills in emergency situations.
Assessment is competency-based and ensures you can apply safe work practices with confidence. It includes:
Interactive quizzes and knowledge checks throughout the course
Scenario-based questions to demonstrate practical understanding
A final assessment to confirm your skills and compliance are current

Workers required to maintain current CPR certification

This refresher course helps you maintain the practical skills and confidence needed to respond quickly and effectively to a cardiac emergency, including performing CPR and using an AED.
Course Outcome
Upon successful completion of this refresher course, you will be awarded a nationally recognised Statement of Attainment for:
HLTAID009 - Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation
These units are recognised under the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) and meet workplace compliance and refresher requirements.

Entry Requirements
To enrol in this refresher course, students must:
Have previously completed HLTAID009 - Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation.
Be at least 15 years of age.
Have sufficient language, literacy and numeracy (LLN) skills to complete the training and assessment.
Hold a valid Unique Student Identifier (USI) – mandatory for all nationally recognised training. If you don't already have a USI, you can apply for one online at www.usi.gov.au or we can apply for one for you.
Students must provide the following evidence:
A clear copy of your driver's licence or other photo identification.
Evidence of previous completion of HLTAID009 - Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation, such as a Statement of Attainment.
Important information:
Please ensure payment or a company purchase order is provided at enrolment to avoid delays in processing and issuing your Statement of Attainment.
If you are submitting a USI transcript, it must include a QR verification code.
If you do not meet the refresher eligibility requirements, you may be required to complete the full HLTAID009 course and additional fees may apply.
