The Conduct Slewing Mobile Crane (Over 100 Tonnes) Operations – VOC course is delivered online, with assessment based on the verification of required knowledge and understanding. Participants complete structured online learning and assessment activities designed to evaluate their knowledge of safe slewing mobile crane operating practices, workplace requirements, and relevant compliance obligations.
Assessment outcomes are determined through online assessment methods, ensuring participants demonstrate an understanding of the skills and knowledge required to support the safe and compliant operation of slewing mobile cranes with a capacity exceeding 100 tonnes in accordance with industry standards and workplace requirements.
You'll receive access details for Civil Safety’s Student Learner Portal, where you'll complete the VOC Knowledge Check. You'll also receive a link to the VOC Demonstration Checklist, which must be provided to your nominated competent person for completion. Once the demonstration checklist has been completed, a copy will be emailed to you. You must then upload the completed checklist to the Student Portal as part of your assessment.
You'll receive your Verification of Competency (VOC) award detailing the unit, machinery and demonstrated competency level, including a unique QR code that allows employers and worksites to instantly verify your VOC.
This Verification of Competency (VOC) is designed for experienced slewing mobile crane operators (over 100 tonnes) who need to verify their practical skills and knowledge to satisfy employer, client, or site-specific competency requirements. It is suitable for operators working across a range of industries, including:
Construction and Civil – Operators undertaking heavy lifting, structural steel installation, precast concrete placement, bridge construction, and major infrastructure projects.
Mining and Resources – Personnel involved in heavy lifting, plant installation, shutdowns, maintenance, equipment assembly, and construction activities on mine sites and resource projects.
Energy and Utilities – Operators performing lifting operations for power generation, renewable energy projects, substations, transmission infrastructure, and utility installations.
Plant and Equipment Operations – Experienced crane operators required to demonstrate ongoing competency or meet site VOC requirements for operating slewing mobile cranes with a capacity exceeding 100 tonnes.

To enrol in this VOC course students must:

Have basic computer skills and access to the internet.
Have sufficient language, literacy and numeracy (LLN) skills to complete assessments.
