Conduct Bulk Water Truck Operations (RIIMPO206D) - Course Information
The Bulk Water Truck Operations course provides practical knowledge and hands-on training to safely operate a bulk water truck in civil construction and related work environments.
You’ll learn about:
Legislation & Compliance: Understand WHS responsibilities, workplace procedures and requirements relevant to bulk water truck operations.
Hazard Identification: Identify workplace and site hazards, including ground conditions, traffic, overhead hazards, environmental factors and other risks.
Equipment & Controls: Understand the features, controls, capabilities and limitations of bulk water trucks.
Pre-Operational Checks: Carry out pre-start inspections and safety checks to ensure the water truck is ready for operation.
Safe Operating Procedures: Safely operate a bulk water truck in accordance with workplace procedures and manufacturer requirements.
Water Truck Operations: Use the water truck for tasks such as water carting, dust suppression and applying water across work areas.
Loading & Water Management: Apply safe procedures when filling, transporting and distributing water while maintaining machine stability and control.
Work Planning & Site Conditions: Follow work instructions and assess site conditions, access requirements, traffic and work areas before commencing operations.
Risk Management: Apply appropriate control measures and safe operating practices to minimise risks during water truck operations.
Equipment Shutdown & Parking: Safely park, shut down and secure the water truck after completing operations.
Communication & Reporting: Follow workplace communication procedures and report hazards, incidents, defects and equipment issues.
By the end of the course, you’ll have developed the skills and knowledge to safely operate a bulk water truck, carry out routine operational checks and perform common water-carting and dust-suppression tasks in accordance with workplace procedures and safety requirements.
Course Delivery and Assessment
In order to provide you with the best learning outcomes possible, this course is delivered via a mix of online learning and face-to-face training. You will be assigned an experienced Trainer Assessor for support throughout your course.
Step 1 - Complete Online Module (within 30 days)
The online modules are self-paced and include assessments (quizzes, written tasks, or short exercises) to ensure understanding.
Step 2 - Attend Face-to-Face Training
Face-to-face practical training is delivered over 1 day, depending on the location/course schedule. Your trainer will give you practical tasks to complete based on the information you’ve learned in your online theory module.
You will need to pass both steps in order to successfully complete the course.
