2 Course Bundle - Conduct Articulated Haul Truck Operations & Conduct Bulk Water Truck Operations - Course Information
The combined Articulated Haul Truck and Bulk Water Truck course provides you with practical knowledge and hands-on experience to safely operate both types of machinery in civil construction and related work environments.
You’ll learn about:
Legislation & Compliance: Understand WHS responsibilities, workplace procedures and legal requirements relevant to operating civil construction plant.
Hazard Identification: Identify workplace and site hazards, including ground conditions, traffic, overhead hazards, environmental factors and other risks that may affect machine operations.
Equipment & Controls: Understand the features, controls, capabilities and limitations of articulated haul trucks and bulk water trucks.
Pre-Operational Checks & Maintenance: Carry out pre-start inspections, safety checks and basic operator maintenance before and after operating the machinery.
Safe Operating Procedures: Safely operate articulated haul trucks and bulk water trucks to carry out common tasks in civil construction and related work environments.
Loading & Material Handling: Apply safe techniques when loading, transporting and tipping materials, including maintaining machine stability and controlling loads.
Water Truck Operations: Safely operate bulk water trucks for tasks such as water carting, dust suppression and applying water across work areas.
Work Planning & Site Conditions: Interpret work instructions and assess site conditions, access requirements, traffic and work areas before commencing operations.
Control Measures & Risk Management: Apply appropriate risk controls, exclusion zones, traffic management and safe operating procedures to minimise hazards.

By the end of the course, you’ll have developed the skills and knowledge to safely operate articulated haul trucks and bulk water trucks, carry out routine operational checks and perform common hauling, tipping and water-carting tasks in accordance with workplace procedures and safety requirements.
Course Delivery and Assessment
In order to provide you with the best learning outcomes possible, this course is delivered via a mix of online learning and face-to-face training. You will be assigned an experienced Trainer Assessor for support throughout your course.
Step 1 - Complete Online Module (within 30 days)
The online modules are self-paced and include assessments (quizzes, written tasks, or short exercises) to ensure understanding.
Step 2 - Attend Face-to-Face Training
Face-to-face practical training is delivered over 2 days, depending on the location/course schedule. Your trainer will give you practical tasks to complete based on the information you’ve learned in your online theory module.
You will need to pass both steps in order to successfully complete the course.
