The Operate and Maintain a 4WD Refresher course is designed for people who have previously completed 4WD operation and maintenance training and want to keep their skills up-to-date and retain compliance.
You’ll learn how to:
Access, interpret, and apply relevant documentation to confirm work requirements
Plan trips and operate vehicles in a manner that minimises environmental impact and respects other land users
Perform thorough pre-departure checks, including vehicle, equipment, luggage, and passenger safety considerations
Safely operate 4WD vehicles on and off road, using correct gears, speed, braking, and steering techniques
Assess and perform minor repairs to vehicles and damaged tracks during a journey
Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on 4WD vehicles, including checking fluids, changing tyres, and submitting vehicle performance reports.

The following entry requirements apply to this course:
Previously completed a full Operate and Maintain a 4WD (RIIVEH305F) unit.
Basic computer skills and access to the internet.
Sufficient language, literacy and numeracy (LLN) skills to complete assessments, and;
A valid Unique Student Identifier (USI) - mandatory for all nationally recognised training. If you don't already have a USI, you can apply for one online at www.usi.gov.au or we can apply for one for you.
