2 Course Bundle - Licence to Perform Basic & Intermediate Scaffolding
Build Your Scaffolding Skills in One Convenient Course
The Basic and Intermediate Scaffolding combined course provides the skills and knowledge required to safely erect, alter and dismantle scaffolding across construction, civil, industrial and resources worksites. Through a combination of practical, hands-on training and theory, you’ll learn how to plan scaffolding work, select and use appropriate equipment, erect and dismantle scaffolding structures, and identify and manage hazards associated with scaffolding operations.
Combining both levels into one course provides a convenient pathway for workers looking to build their scaffolding skills and expand the range of scaffolding work they can safely perform in the workplace.
You’ll complete the following two units in one course:
CPCCLSF2001 - Licence to Erect, Alter and Dismantle Scaffolding Basic Level
CPCCLSF3001 - Licence to Erect, Alter and Dismantle Scaffolding Intermediate

2 Course Bundle - Basic & Intermediate Scaffolding - Course Information
The Basic and Intermediate Scaffolding combined course provides you with the skills and knowledge required to safely erect, alter and dismantle a broad range of scaffolding structures across construction, civil, industrial and resources worksites. Building on fundamental scaffolding skills, you’ll develop the practical capabilities needed to plan scaffolding work, select and use appropriate equipment, safely construct scaffolds and manage hazards associated with scaffolding operations.
You’ll learn about:
Basic & Intermediate Scaffolding Techniques: Erect, alter and dismantle scaffolding structures safely and efficiently in accordance with workplace requirements.
Scaffold Planning: Interpret plans, specifications and workplace instructions to determine scaffold requirements and ensure work is properly planned before commencing.
Scaffolding Components & Equipment: Identify, select and correctly use scaffold components, tools, equipment and associated materials.
Scaffold Assembly: Safely assemble scaffolding structures using appropriate components, connections, bracing and support systems.
Alterations & Modifications: Safely alter and modify scaffolding to accommodate changing work requirements while maintaining structural integrity.
Dismantling Procedures: Safely dismantle scaffolding in the correct sequence and manage components to minimise risks to workers and others.
Stability & Structural Integrity: Understand the factors that affect scaffold stability, including foundations, bracing, ties, loading and environmental conditions.
Hazard Identification & Risk Control: Identify and control hazards associated with working at heights, falling objects, scaffold collapse, manual handling and site conditions.
Work at Heights & Fall Prevention: Apply appropriate controls and safe work practices when working on and around scaffolding structures.
Legislation & Compliance: Apply relevant WHS legislation, codes of practice, Australian Standards and workplace procedures to scaffolding operations.
Scaffold Inspection & Safety: Check scaffolding structures and components to identify defects, damage or unsafe conditions and take appropriate action.
Safe Work Practices: Apply exclusion zones, barricades, signage and other control measures to protect workers and other people in the vicinity.
Workplace Communication & Reporting: Follow workplace communication procedures and report hazards, defects, incidents and other safety issues as required.
By the end of the course, you’ll have developed the skills and knowledge to safely undertake a broader range of basic and intermediate scaffolding operations, including the erection, alteration and dismantling of scaffolding structures, in accordance with workplace safety and regulatory requirements.
Course Delivery and Assessment
Due to the high-risk nature of dogging and rigging work, the Licence to Perform Basic & Intermediate Scaffolding combined course is delivered face-to-face over 5 days. You’ll gain hands-on experience in a controlled environment, building both confidence and competence while receiving direct guidance and personalised feedback from experienced trainers throughout the course.
High Risk Work Licences
After successfully completing this course, you can apply for your High Risk Work Licence (HRWL). You have 60 days from course completion to submit your application. HRWLs are valid for five years and can be applied for or renewed online via the WorkSafe QLD or WorkSafe WA websites. If your licence expires, you are no longer recognised as a licensed operator until it is renewed. WorkSafe provides a 12-month grace period for renewal; if this period passes, you will need to resit both the written and practical assessments.
If you are one of our corporate clients, we can apply for the licence on your behalf for an additional fee of $160 (which includes the WorkSafe fee).
