The Apply Initial Response First Aid (RIIERR205D) course provides you with the essential skills and knowledge required to respond to workplace incidents and medical emergencies in a timely and effective manner. Designed for individuals across a wide range of industries and environments, this nationally recognised training focuses on delivering an immediate first aid response, assessing emergency situations, and supporting casualty care until further medical assistance arrives.
Through practical, hands-on training and realistic emergency scenarios, you will develop the confidence to manage a range of incidents while following established response procedures and communication protocols.
You’ll learn how to:
Assess and respond to emergency situations
Apply initial first aid treatment and casualty care
Conduct basic patient assessment procedures
Communicate effectively during emergency incidents
Provide CPR and manage unconscious casualties
Control bleeding and manage shock-related conditions
Safely use first aid equipment and resources
Maintain personal safety while assisting casualties
The Apply Initial Response First Aid course is delivered face-to-face. You’ll gain hands-on experience in a controlled environment, building both confidence and competence while receiving direct guidance and personalised feedback from experienced trainers throughout the course.
Upon successful completion of this course, you will be awarded a nationally-recognised Statement of Attainment for:

This certification is nationally recognised under the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF).

There are no formal entry requirements to enrol in this course; however students should have:
basic computer skills and access to the internet
sufficient language, literacy and numeracy (LLN) skills to complete assessments, and;
A valid Unique Student Identifier (USI) - mandatory for all nationally recognised training. If you don't already have a USI, you can apply for one online at www.usi.gov.au or we can apply for one for you.
Throughout the duration of your course, you can access experienced industry professionals and support staff to guide you through the program. Our trainers are dedicated to helping you succeed and will be available to answer your questions and provide feedback on your progress. They will provide you with the guidance and support you need to fully understand the course material, as well as offer suggestions for further learning opportunities.
