The Service Mine Plant and Equipment (RIISAM212E) course provides the practical skills and knowledge to safely carry out routine servicing and maintenance of mine plant and equipment. You’ll learn how to identify servicing requirements, conduct inspections, use tools and equipment safely, carry out routine servicing tasks and follow workplace health and safety procedures.

Service Mine Plant and Equipment (RIISAM212E) - Course Information
The Service Mine Plant and Equipment (RIISAM212E) course provides you with the practical skills and hands-on training needed to safely carry out routine servicing and maintenance of mine plant and equipment.
You’ll learn about:
Legislation & Compliance: Understand WHS responsibilities, workplace requirements and legal obligations relevant to servicing mine plant and equipment.
Service Requirements: Identify manufacturer and workplace servicing requirements and determine the tasks needed for different types of mine plant and equipment.
Equipment Inspection: Inspect plant and equipment to identify wear, damage, faults and other issues that may require servicing or maintenance.
Tools & Equipment: Select and safely use the appropriate tools, equipment and materials required to carry out servicing tasks.
Pre-Service Safety Checks: Prepare plant and equipment for servicing, including isolating equipment and applying relevant safety procedures before work begins.
Routine Servicing: Carry out routine servicing tasks in accordance with workplace procedures and manufacturer requirements.
Fluids, Lubricants & Components: Check and service relevant fluids, lubricants, filters and serviceable components as required.
Faults & Defects: Identify and report faults, defects or maintenance issues that are outside the scope of routine servicing.
Environmental & Workplace Procedures: Follow workplace procedures for handling waste, spills, used fluids, parts and other materials generated during servicing.
Communication & Reporting: Complete relevant documentation and report servicing activities, faults and equipment issues in accordance with workplace requirements.
By the end of the course, you’ll have developed the practical skills and knowledge to safely service mine plant and equipment, identify servicing requirements and complete routine maintenance tasks in line with workplace and manufacturer requirements.

The online modules are self-paced and include assessments (quizzes, written tasks, or short exercises) to ensure understanding.
Step 2 - Attend 1 Day of Face-to-Face Training
Your trainer will give you practical tasks to complete based on the information you’ve learned in your online theory module.

There are no formal entry requirements for this course, however students will need:
Basic computer skills and internet access (for enrolment and online modules)
Adequate language, literacy, and numeracy (LLN) skills to complete assessments, and;
A valid Unique Student Identifier (USI) - mandatory for all nationally recognised training. If you don't already have a USI, you can apply for one online at www.usi.gov.au or we can apply for one for you.

Your Statement of Attainment is typically issued within 3-5 business days after you successfully complete all assessments and all required enrolment, USI and payment requirements are satisfied.
