The Operate Support Equipment (RIIMPO208F) course focuses on developing the practical capability to operate support equipment safely, efficiently, and in line with industry expectations. It is designed for individuals working across construction, civil, and resource sectors who are required to support site operations through the use of machinery and equipment.
Training combines theory with practical application, ensuring participants understand not just how to operate equipment, but how to do so within the framework of site procedures, safety systems, and productivity targets.
You’ll learn:
How to conduct pre-start, operational, and shutdown procedures
Safe operating techniques for a range of support equipment
How to identify hazards and apply risk control measures on site
Basic maintenance and equipment care requirements
Communication and teamwork practices within a worksite environment
How to follow workplace policies, procedures, and compliance requirements
On completion, participants will have the skills to operate support equipment confidently while contributing to safe and efficient site operations.
This course is delivered face-to-face over 1 day.
You’ll be assessed through practical, real-world scenarios to ensure you can confidently apply your skills on the job.
Assessment is competency-based and ensures you can apply safe work practices with confidence. It includes:
Interactive quizzes and knowledge checks throughout the course
Scenario-based questions to demonstrate practical understanding
A final assessment to confirm your skills and compliance are current

Have basic computer skills and access to the internet.
Have sufficient language, literacy and numeracy (LLN) skills to complete assessments.
Hold a valid Unique Student Identifier (USI) - mandatory for all nationally recognised training. If you don't already have a USI, you can apply for one online at www.usi.gov.au or we can apply for one for you.
