At Civil Safety, we know that practical training can open doors to new opportunities. Our latest training program is off to a fantastic start, with students showing great commitment, strong attendance and plenty of enthusiasm as they work towards developing new skills.
Delivered through our collaboration with Boom Logistics, the Waalitj Foundation and MatchWorks, the program provides training pathways for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students, helping them develop practical skills while working towards future employment opportunities.
The group has made excellent progress in its first week, completing a range of practical training to build capability across different areas of work.

Creating training pathways through partnership
Strong partnerships between training providers, industry and employment organisations play an important role in connecting people with opportunities to learn new skills and pursue their career goals.
Through the program, Civil Safety is working alongside Boom Logistics, the Waalitj Foundation and MatchWorks to support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students progressing through practical training.
By developing skills, building confidence and gaining experience across a range of training areas, students are working towards expanding their future employment opportunities.
The program also highlights the value of collaboration in creating meaningful training pathways that connect students with industry and potential career opportunities.
A big week of skills development
The students have hit the ground running, working through a packed schedule of training.
Here’s a look at what they’ve achieved so far:
Monday: Working at Heights
Tuesday and Wednesday: Elevated Work Platform (EWP)
Thursday: Load Restraint
Friday: Four-Wheel Drive (4WD)
Each day has empowered students to develop their knowledge, put their skills into practice and build confidence in a hands-on learning environment.
With excellent attendance throughout the week, the group has shown a great attitude towards learning and willingness to get involved.
