SAGT – Skills Assessment and Gap Training​

If you’re working in the industry – or looking to re-enter – but don’t hold a formal qualification, our SAGT program will help you turn your experience into a formal qualification. SAGT connects you to training and assessment services to identify the skills you already have, and provide the gap training you need to attain a nationally recognised qualification.

The first stage of SAGT will see your skills and abilities ‘mapped’ against a qualification. You will then go on to undertake gap training required to gain a nationally recognised qualification.

Please note: Eligible participants must be able to demonstrate experience through a recognition process in a minimum of seventy percent (70%) of the competencies required to complete the full Qualification.  A Participant is only eligible for a maximum of one (1) CSQ Funder Qualification in total across the Programs 2022/23 Term which is October 1st 2022 – September 30th 2023.

Short Courses

Are you an existing worker in the building and construction industry looking to learn new and important skills that will help you to further your career in construction or re-enter the industry? Our Short Courses program could be right for you.

The Short Courses program provides funding to assist with upskilling and cross-skilling existing workers in the building and construction industry. Short Courses are individual competencies and skill sets designed to provide flexible solutions to workers wanting to update their skills and knowledge in specific, targeted areas.

Please note: Eligilble participants can only complete a maximum of eight (8) eligible short courses (which includes both building and civil) across the 2022/23 term from October 1st 2022 – September 30th 2023.  Within the 8 units of competency eligible participants can only undertake 3 High Risk Work Licences and 3 Mobile Plant units.

Higher Qualifications

The Higher Qualifications program is for when you’re keen to move into a higher-level role in general or civil construction. The HLS program provides nationally accredited qualifications ranging from a Certificate IV up to an Advanced Diploma level.

Please note: Eligible participants are not to complete more than 50% of the qualification through RPL and/or credit transfer.  A Participant is only eligible for a maximum of one (1) Higher Qualification in total across the Programs (which includes both Building and Civil) during the  term from October 1st 2022 – March 31st 2024. Eligible participants must not be undertaking a CSQ SAGT program in the same term.
